from Mt. Fuji’s northern foothills,
this drink becomes a natural part of your day

Gently becoming part of your everyday moments—and before you know it, you feel the quiet breath of nature.
tokelu is a small company nestled in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, where we craft gin and spirits inspired by the herbs and life of the Mt. Fuji foothills.

At tokelu, we put three heartfelt intentions into every bottle:

1. To craft spirits that gently blend into everyday life.

2. To create drinks that untangle the heart and relationships, helping people connect and relax.

3. To dedicate ourselves to a lifelong journey in search of the answer to the question:
“What makes a truly delicious spirit?”

Using spring water from Mt. Fuji, wild herbs from the surrounding forests, and herbs we grow ourselves, we craft gentle spirits that stay close to nature

— spirits that could only be made in this land.

Plants in the
northern foothills
of Mt. Fuji

In our gin, we use botanicals gathered from the wild plants of the Mt. Fuji foothills and herbs we grow ourselves.

Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi — located about 900 meters above sea level — is a place of sharp contrasts between day and night temperatures, creating an environment where plants naturally concentrate their aromatic essence.

During the Edo period, when faith in Mt. Fuji spread throughout Japan, plants harvested from this region were treasured as medicinal herbs and even offered to the shogunate.

At tokelu, our gin-making always begins by listening to the plants of this land.
We carefully observe how the seasons change, how the temperature and the character of each herb shift throughout the year, and design each distillation with balance in mind — how the aroma rises, how the botanicals express themselves, and how they harmonize with one another.
